I heard of pickleing the hide for two or three days then flesh or shave then put back in pickle for another day. My ? is do you put the hide in baking soda for 20 min. before you flesh then put it back in pickle for a day then in baking soda to raise the ph for the tan[liqua tan].Or take out of pickle flesh then back in for a day then the baking soda then the tan? I know it is easyer to shave once it has been in the baking soda.Please help!

You dont use the baking soda(nuetralizer)until your completley finished pickleing and ready to tan.No more picleking after the baking soda.
pickle for three days, shave hide place back in pickle for a day than neutralize in soda. Rinse in plain water, drain, tan. You cannot shave a neutralized cape, many holes. The pickle plumps the hide up for easier shaving. Sorry but doesnt anyone read directions on the products their going to use.
