Are there any good books I can purchase covering aspects of the tanning process?
I would eventually like to gain knowledge in the tanning process at a large tannery level. I would like to take a tour of a tannery if any members of this forum would be interested in helping me.

As far as books on the market at this moment - there are no really "good" books explaining the whole process in detail, including using the more modern tans.
However - as far as being able to tour a modern tanning facilty - try calling Keystone Fur Dressing in Aspers PA at (717) 677-4553! They are one of the newest and most modern facilities - using the latest tanning methods! And they're growing RAPIDLY! They would be worth a visit.
