I am using kwik n eze tan for the first time and i was wanting to wash my cape before i mount it. I have already salted, pickled, shaved and returned to pickel. When can i wash the cape safely without hurting the process or is it too late. Thanks

So far you're right on track. Your next step will be to nuetralize your cape prior to the tanning oil. Apply the Q-N-E let it penetrate at least three hours, I recommend you do it overnight, just refridgerate it if you go this route. Once the oil has had time to absorb into the hide, you may then give it a quick wash in ERA or Arm & Hammer detergent, then rinse, tumble and mount. Good luck! Marc R
