Ok this maybe a stupid question but I am wanting to find information on sewing tanned skins such as coyote fox coon and muskrat thing of this nature. I am not talking about sewing up a hole that I cut in I am talking about sewing several skins together to make a large rug or to make a large blanket. what kind of equipment do i need and where can i get it. Any information would be helpful and very apricatied

A good sewing machine

But most importantly, a good eye. You have to match hair patterns, hair length, and hair colorations so that when you do sew them together, there's a smooth transition from one to another. Remember, however, most fur coats are made with small slivers of hide matched just like this instead of huge blocks of hide in a patchwork design.

I have seen some patch work fur blankets

Over the years I have seen a lot of really great looking blankets made from different kinds of fur. A good sewing machine and a imagianation is all you need. By doing designs and even to the point of landscapes and pictures you dont have to worry about matching colors or types of fur.

Any left overs can be bagged and sold to fly tiers.

Thanks
