Lowering ph of saftee acid solution

Submitted by Russell on 01/09/2003. ( averytaxidermy@mindspring.com )

I'm out of saftee acid. I need to stabilize the ph of the acid solution until my saftee acid arrives. Any ideas? Right now its OK but it's beginning to rise. Can I use vinegar or some other household ingredient?

its the lest volitile of the acids and should not react, but test it to see.

Check its pH

Check the pH of straight vinegar first, you won't get the pickle any lower than that.

Muriatic acid

I've put 3 gallons of vineger in with no results before. I finally went to local hardware store and got some muriatic acid. This stuff is dangerous so take usuall precautions.(gloves and safety glasses) It only takes a little so use with disgression.
