i need to know what i did wrong i tryed to tan a coyote the same way i tan a deer cape 1lb of t.c.to 1 gallon of water for 2 hours than flesh down then 2/3 cup of ez tan in the tanner for 2 hours when i took it out it was a mangaled mess what did i do wrong

Sometimes coyotes and Gray Fox just do that, I have heard of deer doing that too.
Nothing you could have done.
The skin had a lot of fat stored in the hide when the hide went into the tanner the cell walls were weak and tear very easy.
For the record I have a wolf, that feel apart from a commercial tannerie. I look at it and it tears.
Iam going to do a bobcat next do you think i will be alright doing it the same way as the coyote
