Hi, I am not new to tanning hides, however I'm always willing to learn,...I tan with lutan-f, has anyone experimented with double oiling, in other words just as as the first oiling is starting to show dry spots, reoil at that time and work it a little, just wondering if this would help get a slightly larger stretchier cape, has anyone tried it? Thanks,...Dan.

I just finished a bear rug with no head or feet, just hide that customer wanted soft. I would oil it and tumble the next day then stretch for couple days and re-oil,tumble next day, stretch for day. Did this three or times and hide was flexible with no breaking involved. Just oil and let soak in before tumbling.

Shop for a new oil!

If you have to double oil - get a new oil! The one you have isnt doing its job if it requires being applied more than once.
