I had recipe at one time for making buckskin using Fels naptha soap and sulfonated neatsfoot oil. I don't remember exactly how it was used. Does anyone have the instructions?

I believe it went like this :1 quart of water,2 bars of Fels Naptha soap shaved into flakes, heat until soap flakes dissolve, add one pint of neatsfoot oil,let cool to touch and rub onto the hide .let sit overnight .stretch and pull the hide, return to the solution, stretch and pull again until dry and it doubles thickness.I made a pair of moccasins out of the leather(if you can call it that) and they are still like when I made them.soft and a "buckskin"color
