I just would really like to know if there is like a whole tanning mix (everything I would need to tan). If so could someone possibly tell me what to buy, and good directions and orders I need to do these things. I am using Deer Hunters Hide Tanning Formula now and im not to impressed. It works ok but I would just like to be able to buy the things I need at a store neerby. Any help will be appreciated

It dont get any easier and better in My opinion than Krowtann. Skin it, flesh it, salt it for a day or two. Stick it into the krowtann after rehydrated and in 48 hours you are done. the only additional thing you will nedd besides the bottle of tan is salt!
I heard that krowtan is good stuff. I am going to order some myself and try it. I have heard alot of good things about it. I dont think that Bill Yox likes it though. (Lol if you read this Bill) There is about 4 pages of stuff about it in the archives if you want to read more about it. I also feel that liqua-tan is another fine product, just my opinion though. I have only about 4 yrs experience doing taxidermy, someone more seasoned may give better advice. Just try some different thing and decide for yourself trial by fire is a long row to hoe but experience is what is needed. Good luck Erik
Thank you for your help, ill save up for some krowtann
Where can I buy krowtann? I cant find any.

The Liqua Tan will work great, this comes in a kit complete, availble here at WASCO or any other 24 + dealers around. We also have a Para Tan Kit that works great too, many like this one for flat skins as well as taxidermy work. Both are proven products, Liqua Tan is the first and original tan thats applied to the skin and only takes 1 to 2 days, from start to finish.(all Steps)
Van Dykes is also another great option. If you call them at 1-800-843-3320 they'll send you a catalog with lots of tanning kits in it ranging from 19.99 to 44.99. The people there are always happy to assist you with any questions you may have even while working on a project. Good Luck! Jeff-
