The Autotanner should provide you with a quality tannage when using the correct chrome tanning agents. There are several good ones out there. Since we make our own tanning formulations as well as distribute for BASF, we can recommend BASF Chromitanô FM very highly. You can couple this with other tanning agents, including LUTANô FN or TANZ-ITô 4405, so as to acquire effects not exhibited by the chrome tannage by itself.

You will have to pay special attention to the discharge of the chrome tan effluent. First, if your area requires a permit for the discharge of effluent, you will need to find out if spent chrome tan liquid is allowed. If no permit is required, you must be sure you do not allow your ground or local water table to be contaminated with the chrome liquid as well as any chemical discharge. We can suggest products to use with the chrome tanning to promote very effective take-up of the chrome in your pelt. Any chrome tan discharge should be absorbed by "Oil dry" or some other liquid absorbent and when dry sent to an approved land fill with the rest of your dry garbadge. Of course, you must follow your local regulations over these comments.

The above mentioned products can be had from Rittel's Tanning Supplies or your favorite supplier. God bless. Dave.
