How to make hides soft and supple?

Submitted by Dan Wade on 02/16/2003. ( wade@pennswoods.net ) 12.169.104.129

I have been playing around with tanning deerhides for several years, with hair attached, and more recently with the hair removed. What is the best way to make the hide soft and supple? I've been searching for websites but haven't had much success in finding my answer. Any help or suggestons would be appreciated. Thanks.
