working with a recent shipment of south African capes,red mold is present on most of all this peticular batch. shipping time was almost a year and plastic was used to pack each cape-question? is this red mold going to cause tanning problems and if so is there a solution?

Red mold will maybe make hair fall off during tanning. I did receive some african hides that looked like red mold but turned out to be red dirt which is common in Africa. Before crating they set the capes on the ground and looked like red mold. Any good tannery should give you a heads up if you bring it to there attention. Good luck.
