Is there anyway to condition a bear rug to keep it from drying out over the long span. With the felt and backing is there anything that can be applied (sprayed) from the fur side to keep the leather supple? Thanks for any help you can give me.

There is no product or chemical that - sprayed on the fur side can make that Rug more supple! Once tanned and softened - the Rug should always maintain its softness. However, if its an older rug and tanned using some of the older methods - then dampness and simply age may be working against it and causing it to become brittle. Sorry - I dont know of a "quick fix"!
