Hi all.
I asked in the beginners section how i transport salted hides from the hunting grounds that wern't fully dried. (im try the salt & dry method). ie, folded, rolled up,in a plastic bag, hessian bag, cooler box.
Its a 4 day drive in a warm and sometimes humid area.

Have the hides salted, folded, and hung for as long as possible in camp. When ready to leave, resalt the capes, roll them up and carry them in burlap bags or cardboard boxes. Do not use plastic as the fluids will puddle and set up bacterial growth. The salt should protect the hide from slippage if they are kept DRY. Do not use a cooler or plastic bag under any circumstance during warm weather.
