I had a cape loose some hair on the brisket area this last deer season. When I got the deer it was a nice, healthy, young buck. I caped the deer out within 3 hours of it being shot, properly fleshed it, and salted it. The temperature never got above 50 degrees for the next 3-4 days. The cape was dry, and in good looking shape. My shop had no heat on it, and it is very humid here in the south ( Arkansas). I was thinking next year trying to soak all my capes in a bath of BASACRYL NB-KU disinfectant for 15 minutes then tumble it dry, and then salting. Has any one tryed this or does anyone have any reconmendations about this. I do not care to spend extra time on a hide if it ads insurance. Have only been doing taxidermy for 2 years, but I want to do the best job I can. Thanks
