Hi, need a bit of help here... Is it possible to wash a deer skin that was pickled and tanned using liqua-tan and then oiled with liqua-soft tanning oil? I'm ready to work this skin over to make it soft but forgot to wash it good before I proceeded with the oil. just wondered how to handle this problem.... Thank you, Lance!

Lance, you should let the hide dry for about 5 days so the Liqua-Tan will bond, plus the drying will hold you're hair tight-than you can wash the hair with a little shampoo and make sure you rinse well. After this you can than rehydrate the cape and start breaking it for softness.I'm not trying to be smart with you but just trying to help you out but you should wash you're capes really good after you salt dry them and are ready to place them in a pickle solution,if you don't you're contaminating you're pickle which can lead to hair slippage-hope this helps.
