Krotann 2000?

I have used Krotann 2000 on several mounts, Wild boar, Javelina, coyotes and Bobcats with great results. However I have tanned 4 deer capes with mixed results the first one worked out great, but I tanned the next two together and one had severe slippage and I had to throw it away and the other had very minor slip. I was able to mount the second cape, but it seems to be taking a long time to set the hair, at this time it has been 10 days since it was mounted. Any suggestions from other Krotann users are appreciated. The cape that I lost came in frozen solid unskinned and took a couple of days to thaw because of the way it was folded. I do not know how these capes were handled prior to coming to my shop. Could they have already been
spoiling before I put them in the tan? If they were, how do you salvage these type of capes.

Days to thaw?

I think that you may have answered your own question.
I have never had a cape take a couple of days to thaw. Did you have it laying on a table or hanging. I always hang them so that gravity can help to open the cape as it thaws. I would say that if you had a cape out for a couple of days that may be the problem.
I have never personally taned multiple capes in Krowtann, I always tan one per bucket. I don't think that that alone would have do it. Unless you didn't agitate them daily and the tan didn't penetrate.
