Small mammal tanning? I mean really!I got a good one today about a coon that had been in a guys garage for 6 weeks. But hey its still good ...it was"cold" out! Give me a break! What makes people think that being a taxidermist also makes you a tannery? And then god forbid you try to make a dollar doing one!
Maybe instead of advertising what you do you should advertise what you don't!

Isn't that what we're in business for? Just because a customer does not know or understand the proper way to store a hide or even a small animal, doesn't make him/her stupid. remember, we are here to provide a service to the public. The better we can deal with potential clients, the better our business relationships should become. That means more profits.
As for the tannery question? I suppose it just makes good sense that we taxidermists should either tan [dress] pelts or at least send them to a contract tannery/dresser for that purpose. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that party's question. So, just bear with it, or look for a more gratifying job like truck driving.
The taxidermist was that as well as a tanner, the guy who did gloves and jackets, moccassins, and novelties like gun racks, etc. Times change, but customers dont know where else to look!
How about 20 or 30 calls on holidays asking for a taxi , mostly drunks.
Funny thing is , in our phone bookthe two listings are not even close together. When he wants a taxi and sees wetnwild, he also must be looking for an escort servive LOl LOL
