While you can do this, its also illegal.

Do you know the Auto_tanner Has a US patent?

Do you also know the liablity factor, i.e. are you a cerified boiler maker?

Yes I made one ,and it works great. I think counting all parts, and trading out the labor I have about 1215.00 invested, and it`s almost as good as the auto tanner !

It is not illegal to make.

It would not be illegal to make a "pressurized tanner" for your own use. It would be illegal to make a pressurized tanner, call it an Auto Tanner and market and sell them.

Jeeze!

John C ....Really? Well lets see would that rule out: fleshing machines, tumblers, bird fleshers, mounting stands, mounting cradles, sanding blocks, hangers, .......should I go on? As far as a boiler maker goes, I am sure they are only available in your area of the country. Come on! A two sentence question gets twisted into something"YOU" want to read. And we wonder why this great country of ours is all messed up!Simply put if some one out there has made there own.....for there own use speak up. Thank you

and pertinent points. Steve Rotramel holds the patent for the auto tanner and of course you can construct one for your own use, I know plenty of folks that have, but when it came time to put the tank together they had an experienced welder/boilermaker put it together for them. Your talking about some contained pressure there, hate to see anyone get maimed or worse, dead, trying to save a few bucks. Also, you're going to spend some change making one properly and I see plenty of used ones {and new ones} for sale on this forum from time to time. John was just being helpful and insightful, I think I'd have gratitude where your vehemence is.Hell, I've seen them on here for less than 1/2 price, used once or twice and the owner decided that fleshing, shaving, tanning was a little more labor intensive than expected. Good Luck to you, which ever road you take.
