Turkey Legs!

Submitted by Erik on 04/18/2003. ( golfin24_7@hotmail.com ) 209.103.205.122

My brother shot a turkey this morning and I was wondering if i could preserve the feet somehow with my ez-100 tanning kit. maybe by pickling them or maybe just put them in salt water. So if there is anyway i can preserve them with ez-100 please tell me.
Thanks,
Erik

Eric, I don't know if the ez-100 would preserve the legs or not, but Rittels Preserve It,I think thats what its called, would work.

Yes - the Preservz-it!

The Preservz-It is what you need to preserve those Turkey feet. It fixes protein. To use the EZ-100 you would have to skin out the turkey feet.

To use the Preservz-It you can either mix it with Borax (4 Ozs.), Water (1 Gl.) and Preservz-It (1 fl. oz.), and then mix it with 10% Elmers White Glue if you want a rigid setting, or mix 10% Glycerine if you want a flexible foot - then inject it into the feet and let them dry in the pose you want - or - you can prick the feet with a sharp pin all over and then soak the feet for 7-10 days in the same mixture, remove them and dry them in the pose you want.
