AIR dried Mink

Submitted by Erik on 04/19/2003. ( ) 209.103.205.122

i have a mink that has been air dried ever since is fleshed it. It is greasy to the touch and i dont have a degreaser accept for dawn. (i used for a coon) I know some people said putting it right into the pickle. But i thought i should rehydrate it in salt water to set the fur a little tighter and then pickle it. Maybe i should rehydrate in salt water, salt, and salt again to salt dry it. I am a little confused now. Try to set me straight.
Thanks
Erik

Erik;

Do yourself a favor and purchase some Ultra-Soft Relaxer. It works great for air dryed, salted hides, and skins.
