I am a taxedermist and need help with a customer problem. She has a hand made white elk leather Indian dress that was damaged slightly by smoke from a fireplace. Is there any way to remove the sooty stains without damaging the leather? I could really use the help on this one! Thanks for any and all responses. Randy

I dunno if this would work or not please ask someone else before ya try it, but what about that stuff sold by many supply companys, made to take out the soot and smoke from mounts that have been in bars.Just an Idea Chase
You dont need to take this one on. I have a leather jacket made from a Wild Boar I shoot in Europe. I take it to a cleaners they send it of and its cleaned by people that clean Suade.
