Is it really necessary to let a hide that has tanned with Lutan-F to dry out 2-3 days after it has been oiled? I am wondering if after the hide is oiled for a couple of hours if i can just wipe off any excess oil and put it in the freezer until I am ready to use it. Seems like going through the rehydrating is just and extra step.

I would suggest tumbling when the oil has absorbed, but before it hardens,This will remove the oil residue and condition the hair.

Gary only need to let that soak in for about 8 hours than freeze or whatever you wish.Have to agree with you there, the rehydrating stinks. Hope that is of some help.
