just tanned a deer hide with liqua-tan
. i followed the instructions to a tee. i have used this same method many times before with great success. i noticed while the skin was in the pickle that the hair seemed lose after fleshing and cleaning and appling the tanning oil the hair still remained loose the only thing i can think of that may have been problem is that when i mixed my salt solution for redydration i may not have let the water cool completely off before emersing the skin in the solution. i live in n,c. and it was preety hot in my shop the week the skin was in the pickle ,could this have been the problem ,any ideas?

friction could have caused the hair slipping. I say this cause it just happened to me on a wire wheel flesher. Skin got to hot and then when i returned it to the pickle it slipped by the eyes and muzzle.
Need less to say I have a wire wheel flesher in pieces all over the outside of my shop. One day i quess i'll put it back together.
