Greasy Badger

Tanning my first badger and it's greasier than a bucket of lard. My question is this: Is it kosher to degrease it with coleman fuel and if so, when? Before, during, or after the pickle? It's in the pickle now. Oh yeah, already checked the archives and no luck. Thanks.

...use coloman fuel, there are excellent grease, blood & dirt eaters out there (check suppliers) that are more effective, and safer to use. You can degrease after pickling.

just take it out of the pickle and wash in Rittels super solvent. Return it to the pickle for a day and you will be ready to tan.

This thing is like trying to degrease a package of bacon. LOL. Thanks again.
