outfitter skinned bear

I'm fairly new to this taxidermy stuff. So I'm just learning. I've done several whitetails they were pickled with safety acid and tanned with lutan f and I didn't have any problems. Here is my question. My buddy is going bear hunting next week. he said the outfitter skins and salts but he doesn't know if the feet and head are removed or if they split and turn. If the bear comes salted and is somewhat dryed how should I rehydrate it to flesh the hide? If the lips and ears havent been touched and it has been salted then what? I would hope the skull and feet are removed If not what should I do? I'm really looking forward to doing this but I have no Idea what to expect. Thanks for your help. Scott

If I have to rehydrate to flesh ,split, and turn should i salt the hide until dry like you would on a freshly fleshed, split, turned hide. or would I pickle because it has already been salted?
Thanks again for the help! Scott

Scott;
The bear really isn't going to be fleshed completely. Most outfitters will leave the feet alone, And some will remove the skull, and some won't. I always prefer they leave this area alone and let me do it.
It's not going to be completely dry when you receive it. They will salt down the hide then put it in a freezer. You will still be able to split and turn everything as usual.
