a customer has the back half of a cape buffalo tanned hair on. he was wondering if a tannery could take the hair off. he would like to make a pair of moccasins. is this possable.

Once tanned - the hair fibers are very much imbedded and stable. To remove them now would be extremely difficult. And would incurr a lot of labor if it were even tried. I personally don't think its a practical idea.
Try to soak it in peroxide same concept as no horns in the stuff cause it will eat it. Never tried it but it might work.
