First question is why didja shoot it? Im sure a lot of people are gonna ask the same thing - we like snakes round here ;)
Take a look through the archives. Search for 'preserving snake skin" and you should get lots of answers. Our resident herp guy, Tom Voyer aka WetnWild has written dozens of responses to that very question - all the info you will ever need on the topic and then some can be found in his knowledgeable postings.

why you'd wrap it around a 2 by 4? You have to preserve and tan the snake skin if you want it too last. First step is to take it off of the 2 by 4 and either remove all the flesh on it and then freeze it until you get all the info on how to tan it, or to freeze it before fleshing. Read up on the subject some before you attempt to do it yourself and messing it up in the longrun.
