krowtan ?

anyone have experience letting a tanned cape completely dry, then rehydrate at a later date to mount? if so how did it work out?

I have not tried but called them and they said they would not reccomend it.I am going to use some small extra capes sometime this summer and try it to see what happens.Anyone else?


boar cape

I had a boar cape that I salt dried, I was going to send it out to be wet tanned. But then I thought I might not get it back in time, because I drug my feet on sending it out. So, I just rehydrated it, and followed the instruction on tanning, and it turned out great.

i've let capes dry out and rehydrated them and no problems at all . i even fixed a mount after it was dried while i was gone hunting for a week and it has been fine ever since.i love this krowtan ive used it on moose to bears and not one cape went bad great stuff and no more salt to dump
