New Twist on Pickling

Ok here is the deal.Several days ago I posted that I may have made a mistake when I accidently added Rittels Super Solvent to may pickle instead of Saftee Acid..WELL....I already had my salt and water mixed up when I added the Super Solvent to it and Bruce suggested that I just use this mixture for degreasing only, so with me being the curious kind that I am, I added my Saftee Acid to the mixture of Super Solvent , Salt , and Water I mixed according to the directions using 1/2 ounce per gallon of water but I also used 1/2 ounce of Solvent per gallon too. I had a bear skin that I was not going to be needing so I added this to the pickle/degreaser water and kept a very close check on the ph ( unbelievable but it stayed at 1.0 ) and now the bear has been fleshed and put into the tan with everything doing just fine. I don't know if this was a fluke or not but I think from now on when it comes to degreasing my bears I will be adding the Super Solvent to the pickle water. By the way when I was stirring and checking the ph several times daily the grease from the bear had risen to the top of the water. Don't know if you all want to try it or not but I just wanted to let you know what happened when I thought I had goofed up...Lisa
