I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using muractic acid for pickling?

It would probably work but...

I'm not sure what kind of results you'd get. Plus, muriatic acid(also called hydrochloric acid) puts off some nasty fumes. Just my 2 cents.

I used it ONCE because I got into a pinch and didn't realize how low I was on Safetee Acid. Muriatic is very dangerous and downright awful for the environment. Safetee acid is much safer and goes a long ways. Why take unnessesary chances? You know you're dealing with a hazard when Bruce sends you to "orangeland". Hope you'll do the right thing. Peace- Jeff F.

Cheaper and safter still.......

If you are in a pinch, then I suggest acetic acid...purchased as 5% White Vinegar...
Waaaaaaaaaay safer then muratic...and if muratic is not properly neutralized,it can (AND WILL) come back to haunt you.
Search the archives for recipies....
Works for me !
