Using Saftee Acid for the FIrst time

In the archives I found the following post.....

*******************

"Saftee Acid, like all the acids - is a bit different from Citric Acid. For one thing, the PH is usually between 1.1-1.5. Always keep it adjusted below a 2.0 PH. Another thing is the length of time to pickle it before you start to shave. For the maximum plumpness you want it thoroughly pickled so you can get a nice easy shave. Leave it in the pickle for 3 days before you shave, degrease or wash it.

Another big difference is the formula - always use 1/2 fluid ounce of Saftee Acid to each 1 gallon of water, and 1 Lb. of Salt. "

*******************

My question is this , Is one pound of salt required per gallon or per batch? I suppose a salinometer would be helpful when mixing different size batches, would any of you know what the salinity should be for this pickling agent?

Thanks very much, in advance , for your help.

Roy

Roy, it's 1lb of salt per gallon of water. If you have a salinometer, it should read anywhere from 40-43 percent saturation. Good Luck.......Travis

Thank you
