Just tryed to rehydrate a hide and strech it back to shape. Seems that I can't get the full strech out of it lost about 1 in. across the neck. Is this normal to have happen. I reydrated using the universal method from bruce rittle. I only tryed sreching it by hand any suggestions on how to fix the problem. Or do I just forget the in. and mount it thanks in advance.

I have come across this web site describing one uy's method of resizing a cape. I myself have not tried this method, but you can look at it and see if it is worth trying or not.
