I have a whitetail cape that is ready to be tanned, I pulled out my bottle of Liqua Tan to find I only have about 3/4 of a cup left, Can I cut this with some soft tan oil made for Liqua tan? I usually heat the Liqua tan then apply to my capes but dont think this is going to be enough.

Bruce doesn't do any work with Liqua-Tan for he doesn't endorse that product. You need to check with Mark from Knobloch's for he's the one that sells this fine tanning solution.
I dodn't know for sure if it'll work, I have heard people doing this but from what I have heard about the product it shouldn't be cut. Those that have said it and I don't know for sure who has they claim to have no problem. As for me I follow directions to the T as best as I can. I would rather freeze the cape or leave it in the pickle. Then I would order more Liqua-tan and then tan the hide. I rather be safe than sorry.

Take Frank's advice!

Frank gave you some good advice. Thanks Frank. From an outsiders viewpoint - you would be cutting the product short on its tanning agent abilities by diluting it with oil. You may end up with a untanned cape - but oil saturated.

Contact Mark Daniels at Knoblochs for the best advice on this one.

Thanks Guys and SORRY BRUCE

The silly things a person does with lack of sleep, Anyways I think I have enough to finish this cape, I have ordered more just in case.
