As long as they are in a cool dry place it'll be fine for the next year or so.

If they are 'foldable' without cracking...place them in large plastic trash bags to keep out the bugs...or get a electric Bug Lamp in your shoip and leave it on 24/7/365...good insurance. Frank's correct...will keep gor a couple years...but...bug proof them suckers for the hair side.

Ahhh...yer a gal after me own heart...BORAX...my pet.
Use the Borax Saturate Solution after the tanning. Using it beforehand defeats the purpose...the Borax moth and bug proofs the hair, fur, feathers, scales before mounting and after mount if finished.

If you'l like a copy of Leon L Pray's booklet on BORAX MOTHPROOFING and Preservative (his discovery for the trade)...drop me a line at my E-mail address...glad to send you a copy.

Plastic Bag?

Dont know where all of you live but here in upstate N.Y. if you put salted skins in a plastic bag they would most likly be garabage in a few days. Think about this- Salt absorbs moisture. It doesnt just absorb moisture from skins it gets it from everywhere including air.
In N.Y. its been about 90 degress with about 90% humidity. Skins in a plastic bag will take moistur out of the air. Since there in a bag where no air cuculation is going on they will never dry back out. Ever wonder why tannerys tell you not to put salted skins in a plastic bag? Salted skins still need air to be able to ciculate around them so Please dont put them in a bag. Thanks Jeff C
