Stoddard Solvent "could" be another name for mineral spirits.
One of the formulations I found for Stoddard Solvent is listed below.

The first CAS Number is supposedly one for mineral spirits. When I
accessed the data bank of the National Institute of Science and Technologies, I could find nothing for that number. Same zero results with another CAS Number.
However, I already knew what I would find on the next two. Common name for those two, BENZENE.
BENZENE is a little flat carbon ring molecule that is known for it's
ability to slice through another molecule, hence the interest in benzene by DNA researchers. It can be used to cut up strands of DNA.
It seems there may be several petroleum distillates being sold under the Stoddard Solvent name.
Benzene compounds were a very important part of the industrial economy at one time, until the real hazards were recognized. This even included use as a food preservative for human consumption.
Benzene is also known as an aromatic carbon ring molecule. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know what that means. Even some one as dumb as I am can figure out that means you can smell 'em in concentration. More than one means of entry into the system.

Stoddard Solvent is a mineral spirit, but is highly refined to remove the impurities found in the standard product. The refined product is used in many products such as safety solvents, paint thinners. Try Ashland Chemical they maybe able to help you with a local source for Stoddard Solvent.
