I have a q? that i can't find the answer to in the georgechives.
Anyhow i recently took in a pieball doe. and am wanting to just hang the hide stretched out on the wall. my q? is after the initial. removal of red meat and salting. Then washing and fleshing stages. can i use my spray tan to preserve the hide well enough to be hung on the wall? Thanks Ray

First of all , you only have to ask this question once as most people just read the recent message board . Anyway , you can basically just hang the hide on the wall after salting but unless you want a house full of bugs , send it to a tannery and have it tanned properly . Its not every day you get a pieballed deer so why risk losing a nice hide . Rick
havn't used the spray tan but with most tans they dry stiff and you have to "break" them. You can rub them over a railing fold them put them in a dryer with some shoes etc. if it is going on the wall put the fur side down spray on the tan and let is dry like that and it'll dry stiff and so what if it is stiff on the wall shouldn't matter to much.My 2 cents Chase
