I'm new at taxidermy. I'm trying to figure out how to completely get the cartilage out of the deer's ear. I have an ear puller and can get as far as the back side of the ear seperated from the cartilage. But how is anyone suppose to get the cartilage seperated from the inside of the ear without cutting it and where are you suppose to cut the earbutt on the backside of the ear and not mess up and cut a huge hole thru the ear. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Go to McKenzie Supply website. They have an instruction section. It covers all kinds of topics. They have one that covers removing ear cartilage. It has step by step instructions and pictures.

You use your fingers to push and pry the skin away from the cartilage
believe It..It can be done sometimes they rip when people put tags In there ears you still have to skin It out and carefully sew It up later
The skinning can be tough going just try and pry a little at a time till you get the hang of it?Goodluck
