Tanning Mule deer cape ,question.

I have a customer who bowkilled a Mule Deer in North Dakota 9/17/03.
The cape is obviously still shedding its summer coat. Anyhow he insists on getting its skin tanned as a flat. I have no problem with doing this but do you think the skin will look alright or is he not going to like the final product? What do you think?

I don't have an abundance of experience with mulies, but with whitetails, I take duct tape and stick it to the hair. It pulls the summer stuff out in rows, but the deeper, imbedded winter hair is uneffected. As I said, works on whitetails.

Thank you very much sir!
