Writer looking for rough weights for tanned hides and pelts.

Hi, I'm a writer working on a book about trade, and I need some "typical" weights for animal pelts and hides. Nothing fancy or too detailed, but if one of my readers wants to know how many pelts makes up a ton of cargo, I want them to be able to look it up. Can you help?

Here is the animal weights I'm looking for:

Bear
Beaver
Caribou
Crocodile
Deer
Elk
Moose
Leopard
Lion
Rabbit

Any help you can give -- including just a rough percentage that I can go out and apply to various animals -- would be greatly appreciated.

Best wishes,

Chris Aylott
