I heard that you are not supposed to shower until four hours after being in a tanning bed, because it will lessen the effects of being in a tanning bed. Is this true?

By the way this is a taxidermy site. You know tanning as in turning raw skins into leather.

I know that when I wear flop flops to work I usually spill tanning acid on my toes. I usually don't wait the reccomended 4 hours to wash it off. I wait until late that evening so I can wash off all the hide paste, formaldahide, blood spatters and tanning acid all at the same time. I have never suffered any ill effects from waiting. However, If I wash my toes right away after a spill I notice that my big toe doesn't shrink as bad.

Shower! What is a shower? Does that mean soaking your body in water?
Never done that before. Sounds troublesome. Just change your clothes every week or 2 & it'll be ok.
Some people will argue that showering after being in a tanning booth will dry out your skin more and remove all your bodies natural oils which it should be using to help repair the damage you you did to yourself by laying in the tanning bed itself.. Tanning is very bad for the skin in the first place. Generally, the lotions, are loaded with aloe and other oils to keep the skin from drying. Showering will remove the aloe and allow the skin dry thus causing flaking or ashy skin.
Also, you have to be careful with your arse and armpits.. they will burn quite fast.. and talk about itch! A sunburnt arse is the worst....
Gawd, the things I did as a teenager.. I think I even had platinum hair at one point.. Then my mother made me shave it all off.

Don't forget you need to pickle before you tan. You also need to neutralize before tanning. I'm not sure on the tan lines though. Personally I would like to have it without the tan lines!
