Not sure on what your saying but are you asking if you can tan a hide with out pickling it by using Liqua-tan. If that's what your asking, the answer is yes it will still tan the hide.
Personally I rather pickle the hide then tan it. It's highly recomened that it's pickled any more.
Or are you asking if I tanned it already can you place the hide in the pickle. The answer is yes you can redo it but as far as having any experence in that area I have none for I have never had the need to retan any hides that I've done or had the tannery do for me.

sorry I hate typing. I took in a wt cape that a guy had fleshed, put into a salt brine and liqua tanned. he skipped the pickle process. I always salt my capes for two days, pickle (with citric acid)and then apply liqua tan. I was not sure if the cape was ok the way it is? or if I should redo it?

I wouldn`t do it....

If your using Liqua tan I`d definately pickle for a minimum of 3 days---When I first started with liqua tan I put my bobcats in the pickle for 2 days..major fur loss...ever since I started leaving it in the pickle for 3 days I`ve yet to have a problem. I have talked to others who agree also.

NOT NECESSARY...

If its allready tanned and the hair is tight, theres not really any need to pickle and retan it. Why go through the whole process again and maybe run into a problem. If it needs to be shaved better then I would redo it, if not mount it.
