I have a bear shoulder mount to do and have to tan the entire hide for a customer. Here's what I plan to do. I am going to flesh it real good and then salt dry it to set the hair good. Then I am going to rehydrate it and I plan to tan it in my auto tanner with the crystals that came with the machine. I plan to degrease it with knolblocks super solv. after the first two hours in the machine after I shave it. Then I plan to place it back in the machine with the solution used prior as directed. Now I am wondering will the degreasing solution mess things up with the last hour of the tanning process? or proceed as usual? Thanks again in advance, Jack F

After you pickle and shave the skin then degrease the skin for 2 to 3 hours, then place skin back into tanning solution for remainder of tanning time.
