You get your cape back with no gaurd hairs left around the etes and muzzle. Try to enter that as a competitive mount! I think I'll just stay with doing it myself. Anythimng wrong with the finished cape, I know who to blaamr. Nuff said.........

i have goals, i want to be that so called "pro tanner" but it takes practice. it sounds like to me that you fail in life, you give up! you prolly had a customer that wanted a hide tanned and you screwed up, or maybe not, im just trying to figure out why your so defensive. i enjoy taxidermy, ive done it all my life, and yes i have done two buffalo hides.......BY HAND! and it soft and fully tanned. no dry spots no dirt in the fur and thin. i did it like the indians, but i used a knife and a flesing beam. i was just asking bruce rittle about tumblers.....who is a pro, and he gave me his knowledge. i can flesh, pickle and tan a hide with little effort and come out with great results, but working by hand is the killer, i would like to find an ECONOMICAL way to soft tumble a hide. so before you jump down anybody elses throat, realize that they might not be in it for the money....its for the love of it!

and when did you see my work agian. dang man you've gone mad. you dont have to have a frikin tannery to be a pro. all i need is a thin hide with a good tan and the art is in the mounting. i know that tanning is an art too but im talking about turn around time. man i get more customers every year because of my turn around time. i can tan in-shop and mount-in shop and make enought money to do everything to support my family and if i have to spend 20 min fleshing a cape thin, 30 min hands on tanning and salting time, then id say it's worth the time rather than sending a hide off, pay for shipping a tanning cost and then wait 2 to 12 months depending on the tannery. anyway i gotta go make some money, so chill out for me will ya.
