From what I hear both Rittel and Knobloch make good tanning products so I will be trying one or both on my up comming deer.
Can anyone give me some pros/cons between the two suppliers? There's got to be somthing diffrent between the two tans...convience, saftey, strech, shaving abbility after tanning, ect.
I'm not trying to start a huge debate, just looking for some differences. Thanks for the info!

On what your tanning with. Are you talking run on tans, synthetic soak tans, which one?
Both carry different tans but they both work the same in reality. I use both guys tanning products for my hides and have no complaints on either one. It just depends on what I feel like doing or what chemicals are running short.
The tans I use are very simple to use and are safe as you can be I guess. With Knobloch's I like their Liqua-Tan, which I use maily on mammals. All you do is pickle the hide (which is highly recommened), neturlize it and then rub on the tan. If you want less shrinkage, after the 24 hour rub in, wash the excess off and oil the hide, which I let sit for another 24 hours. The oil I use for either tan is Knobloch's number 1 oil. After that wash the hide and mount but you really don't have to oil the Liqua-Tan.
The tan I use on deer capes and life size is Rittel's EZ-100. It's a synthetic tan and again you pickle, shave, repickle, netulize, soak the hide in the tan, take out rinse, oil, wash, and mount.
What is the difference? Well, it's still out there for I still use both. Oh yes I do use it on deer capes also.
Now you also have rub on tans for Bruce. I have not used them but I can say their just like Mark's products. The same goes for Knobloch's products. They have Para-tan which is another synthetic tan and folks like this tan. It becomes a personal choice on what you would like to do......
As you can tell I'm still really new at this...the only tan I've used was from Van Dykes and it came with one of thier kits.
Guess it's time for me to start reading and learning about another aspect of this fine art. I didn't think this was a loaded question...who would have thought there were so many diffrent tans. Thanks again!
