DP is the only way to go!

i personally mount everything that comes in my shop with
pure dry preservitive. (borax) i do every thing from big bear
to small deer. the stuff is great for my buisness because i have a three day turn-around on everything. i have found that rough fleshing is only nessary for large chunks of meat and fat. i do not remove all the meat! if it is half inch or less it will dry just fine, with no problems what-so-ever. my customers are tickled pink when i tell them three days max to get their mount back, great advertising tool also.
just my personal opionion, but i will never go back to tanning, what a waste of time. all true taxidermists should really reconsider tanning and start worring about the hunter, and how it feels to wait long periods of time for a waste such as tanning. just my opionion, though.

p.s.
i also like DP because i get to mount the same deer three or four times a year because the costomer cant stand the smell and the bugs! why mount a deer head only once when you can do it over and over and charge full price every time.

about rehydration. I have a tanned deer hide that in one night rehydrated. I mean it was wet. Dp has never done this..I can't imagine how bad it would mold up in just a few days....
