I would like to tan a coyote hide for a throw and I have a video by WASCO showing the steps for tanning with lutan f I would like to order a kit to do the tanning with but on sure of what to get. Is there a chart that tells you how much pickle soultion the hide needs to soak in and then how much tan is needed to tan the hide. They have a kit to do a deer hide if I just get that kit and make sure my ph level is ok will I get through the pickling stage ok,and then if follow the directions to tan will I be ok I guess the question here is Is to much tan going to hurt the hide.
Thank you if you can help me out with this I checked the orange button and can find nothing in there to help and WASCOs custmor services is some of the worst I have ever seen thanks again if you can help

Bad mouthing the company that hosts this site isnt a good way to ask for help. Follow the directions.
Hi Bill,
When you get the kit, it will tell you how much pickle, how much neutralizer, etc. to make, and use.
In the meantime, is your coyote stretched, well-fleshed, prime, and fully air dried or salt dried? Please tell us you didn't salt it then roll it up and freeze it.
One coyote is too small for a throw. Hopefully you either have more than one, or you are just going to display the one skin.
WASCO's customer service has been nonexistent for me, which is not bad (I don't need help much.. I would appreciate a tracking # or a "we've charged your card" or a "reciept / here's what you just ordered" break-down e-mail though!) - so I can't say I agree or disagree.
They DO ship fast and the orders are always accurate, and great products, so I have no complaints.
That's not bad-mouthing, it's an opinion, and Bill is entitled to his First Amendment rights, even if we do not agree with him! Always remember that!
Bill, if you screw up, realize you CAN easily replace a coyote. They are being heavily targeted this year by trappers and hunters alike. A replacement body or skin should be an easy find.
Good luck (and thanks, WASCO, for letting me share my opinion.)
Paul,
I'am not bad mouthing anyone just stating the facts that I see. I've been trying to get a question answered for two weeks about one of there products and can't seem to get a reply. I'am not sure what the reason is but I know that it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I'am sure if you left a person hanging for two weeks on a question they had about getting a mount done you wouldn't have to worry about answring it any more because they would move on.
I have used WASCO for several years now and this is the first problem I have run into. Although it is the first time I've tried to ask them a question also. Maybe by someone from WASCO reading this they may see there is a problem that needs to be worked on which will bring better service for all that use the company.
Never be afriad to tell the truth about the way you feel, sometimes you can ruffle some feathers but you got to be true to yourself. Well enough rambling about this lets all try to have a good day Later

WASCO got with me today and answered my question. Not sure if it was this post or not that got a response, but if I can say they aren't doing something I'am man enough to go back and tell everyone when the problem is solved.
