The fur side gets sticky and is hard to clean up. You can oil it after tanning and shaving.

You have to use an Oil!

Whether you use the Oil in the Tan or swab it on afterwards - you must use it!

The Oil - besides softness and lubrication, also helps the skin or cape keep its size while it dries. Otherwise you will see shrinkage as it slowly dries.

The only time you do not need an Oil when treating a skin or cape is when you are using a powdered or liquid form of Dry Preservaative.

Dan, John is absolutely right on oiling after tanning. Don't know how the oil ever came into play by adding to the machine but its a mess. Swabbing on after you remove from the machine is the way to go. As for the type of oil I use Rittels proplus oil which is mixed with hot tap water for my application. I have littlle to no shrinkage and excellent stretch. Good luck, Mark

Thanks guys
