After seeing a lot of questions regarding degreasing for this, degreasing for that, etc... I offer the following suggestion"
For ANY mammal... you can use any of the degreasers marketed for tanning. I use Rittle's super solvent for everything from Boar to bear and it works fantastic.
For fish I use dawn dishwashing liquid as an initial degreaser and then rittle's super solvent for the big nasty greasballs like salmon, Great Lake fish, stripers, etc.....
Birds... well I eat them
Now if you really want to save money and time, and insist on finding that super local product, well you can use gasoline, acetone, coleman's, etc.... but I doubt you will get as good of results as with the degreasers made by Bruce Rittle and/or Epo-Grip and I know you will have more safety concerns. I personally like the fact that I do not have to worry about a spark here, an open flame, etc... as these two products are water based.
A good degreaser does make a difference in the final product, esp on coyote, fox, otter, bears, beaver, lions, fish, birds etc......
Just one guys opinion who has tried them all.

Hey Dave, thanks for the info. I have yet to use Rittels supersolvent, but thats my next purchase. My last degreasing experience didn't turn out as good as I hoped.
Appreciate the suggestions!
