I need to know which tanning chemicals I need for tanning cowhides. I want the hair on and I want it to be very bright, silky and shiny. I would appreciate any and all positive and constructive responses.

If you already have a Shaving Machine and know how to use it - it shouldnt be a problem! Thebiggest problem will be hefting it around and shaving it! Its sheer size and weight can be over-whelming. Even expierenced Tanners reluctantly tackle cow-hides.
Why not do several Deerskins on your Shaving Machine first - and get some experience before you tackle a cowhide!
As far as chemicals go - any tanning agent used to tan WT Deerskins should work extremely well on cowhides too!
A much better alternative - if you do not own a Shaving Machine - is to Salt it, Dry it, and ship it to a Tannery!
